Academy Videographer A multiskilled creative role to capture, edit, and produce high-quality video content that highlights the activities, achievements, and daily life at the Club’s Academy. This content will showcase the Academy’s programmes, facilities, success stories, and culture. The aim is to produce dynamic content that engages various stakeholders, including players, parents, coaches, and the broader community, to build the Academy brand and generate wider interest. Content includes match footage, training sessions, interviews, promotional videos, and special events Video Production Capture high-quality video footage of matches, training sessions, interviews, Academy events, and behind-the-scenes insights Edit raw footage into content suitable for club platforms (social media, website, internal use, etc.) Develop creative concepts and storyboards for video content that showcases the Academy brand, its programmes, and success stories Ensure high-quality sound in all video content, adjusting audio levels and using music to enhance production Apply graphics, animations, and special effects to enhance video quality and viewer engagement Use the Academy’s logo, colours, and fonts across all content to build a recognisable brand Creativity Bring new ideas and creative approaches to video content to enhance the Academy’s brand, media, and fan interest Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in video production to keep content fresh and engaging Content Management Organise and archive all video footage for easy retrieval and future use Upload and manage video content on various platforms (YouTube, social media, website) Collaboration Work closely with the media team, coaches, and players to capture the essence of the Academy’s culture and activities Seek and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve video quality and relevance What we're looking for in you: Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in film production, media studies, communications, or a related field Experience Proven experience as a videographer, preferably in sports or a similar field Experience working with football or sports teams is highly desirable A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of video production skills and creativity Knowledge and Skills Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and familiarity with graphic design and animation tools Extensive knowledge of professional video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to develop creative concepts and bring them to life through video Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in a team setting Terms of Employment 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends depending on match fixtures 20 days annual leave (rising by 1 day per completed year of service, up to a maximum of 25 days, plus 8 statutory bank holidays) Applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check (previously a CRB check) Birmingham City FC is an equal opportunities and Disability Confident employer and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
