About this opportunity
Are you looking for an operational management role that is rewarding and really makes a difference for our children, young people, and vulnerable adults? We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated supervisor to be responsible for the front line operations for CTOT, Westmorland and Furness Council’s in-house operator of home to school and adult social care transport from our Skirsgill and Kendal sites.
Who we are looking for…
The successful candidate will be managing a team of D1 minibus drivers and passenger assistants and Category D Coach drivers. The successful candidate must hold a full vocational Category D License and be willing to undertake training for the Transport Manager CPC.
You should have proven experience in managing people, preferably in the sector, be self-motivated, an independent thinker, confident in your own decision making and able to work flexibly around an operational day. In addition to supervising your direct reportees and ensuring compliance with all operational aspects, you will also work closely with other area supervisors in Westmorland & Furness Council to ensure continuity of service delivery and to develop and grow the service area.
There is a requirement to be contactable out of hours on occasion to ensure that staff cover is in place and you may, on occasion, be required to act as resilience and cover routes yourself either as a driver or passenger assistant.
The postholder will report directly to the Business Partner CTOT Operations, who is also the named Transport Manager on the PSV O License, and will support the operational and logistical work of the wider Integrated Home to School Transport Service.
