We are seeking a Legal and Contracts Manager. Requirements
Essential Experience, Skills and Qualities
* A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in law, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Experience in contract management, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
* Strong understanding of contract law and biotech industry regulations.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Experience with intellectual property, GDPR and other data privacy law compliance requirements.
* Experience with contracts related to scientific and clinical research activities.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple contract negotiations and legal projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency with contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with document management systems.
* Excellent attention to detail in drafting and reviewing complex contracts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
* Responsible and focused approach to independent and collaborative work, with the ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work to deadlines.
* Innovative and ambitious mindset, with an inquisitive and agile approach to problem-solving and overcoming technical challenges; motivated to continuously learn and take on challenges.

Role Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders for legal projects and contract matters, ensuring appropriate and timely prioritisation and issue resolution.
* Review and support negotiations of contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders, including confidentiality agreements, vendor and service agreements, clinical trial agreements, and research collaborations.
* Contract database management: Maintain accurate contract records in the contract database, including all execution and post-execution recording of agreements in the database, milestone payments, tracking expirations, and proactively consulting internal stakeholders about renewals and contract review.
* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between legal, procurement, and business teams to ensure contracts are aligned with business goals and compliant with company policies.
* Regulatory awareness and compliance: In consultation with external legal counsel, ensure contracts adhere to legal and industry requirements.
* Continuous improvement: Continuously assessing and optimizing optimising contract management processes, including developing and updating contract templates and playbooks.
* Monitor contract performance post-execution to ensure both parties meet their obligations, including follow-ups and issue resolution.
* Identify and assess legal and business risks associated with contracts, and proactively recommend solutions to mitigate such risks.
* Training and guidance: Providing education and support to employees on contract matters, contractual obligations, and company standards.
* Share information openly and work collaboratively with other departments to help advance different projects and achieve company goals.
