As we continue to grow, we are seeking a commercially astute and compliance-focused Contracts & Compliance Manager to join our leadership team.
This role is ideal for individuals from similar regulated sectors (such as construction, environmental services, utilities, or health & safety) who possess transferable skills in contract management, compliance, project delivery, and team leadership.
Role Overview
The Contracts & Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the regulatory, contractual, and financial elements of asbestos-related projects. You will ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, manage project risk, lead multidisciplinary teams, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
* Draft, review, and manage contracts for asbestos work (removal, remediation, and disposal).
* Handle the full contract process, including variations, renewals, and compliance.
* Make sure contracts meet legal and project requirements.
* Spot and resolve problems early.
Compliance
* Stay up to date with asbestos legislation and ensure projects follow all regulations.
* Work with teams to carry out audits on safety, quality, and compliance.
* Identify and manage any compliance risks.
Financial Oversight
* Set and manage project budgets to ensure financial control.
* Track spending and manage payments to contractors and suppliers.
* Keep projects on budget without compromising safety or quality.
Team & Project Leadership
* Lead planning and delivery of multiple asbestos projects.
* Manage and support project teams to meet goals.
* Be the main contact for clients, contractors, and regulators.
* Keep leadership informed on progress and compliance.
Safety & Quality
* Promote a strong health and safety culture.
* Make sure all work meets legal and quality standards.
* Drive improvements through regular checks and audits.
Person Specification:
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in contract management or project delivery within a regulated industry (e.g. asbestos, construction, utilities, environmental services).
* Strong knowledge of health & safety, CDM regulations, or equivalent compliance frameworks.
* Financial acumen with a clear understanding of cost control, budgeting, and value engineering.
* Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication abilities.
Desirable (but not essential):
* Previous experience working on asbestos-related projects.
* Knowledge of HSE Asbestos regulations and licensed contractor operations.
* Construction management qualifications or similar
