Our client, a major manufacturer of high volume products in the Yorkshire region close to the M62 / M1, seeks to appoint an Operations Director to take responsibility for the complete manufacturing and supply chain functions with a team of over 200 people. On offer is an excellent financial package and the autonomy to run a modern manufacturing facility for a company in a period of vigorous growth committed to further site investment.
Operations Director - Role & Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for all site operations of a modern manufacturer including production, quality, maintenance and site services.
2. Contribute to the strategic vision of the company as part of the senior leadership team. Ensure operational capability can meet growth from sales department.
3. Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to a largely unskilled workforce.
4. Lead a large team of managers and supervisors through a period of cultural change to greater operational efficiency.
Operations Director - Skills & Abilities
1. Of obvious graduate calibre in an engineering/manufacturing discipline.
2. Experience of a high precision volume production environment.
3. Minimum 5 years' in a senior manufacturing position with responsibility for large (100+) teams.
4. Previous experience of "from scratch" implementation of lean manufacturing techniques and production KPIs.
5. Strong interpersonal skills, a vision for success, and the ability to take responsibility, coach, develop and mentor.
