Applications are invited for the above post within the Safeguarding Investigations Unit, Ipswich based at Conifer House.
The role is responsible for multi-agency working on behalf of the Force for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Making decisions which reflect the appropriate response for all partner agencies.
Duties include, but not limited to identifying criminal offences and recording appropriately, ensuring they are allocated to the appropriate department and provide ongoing oversight and support.

It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
1. Proven ability to effectively supervise and manage a team
2. Demonstrate ability to supervise and manage criminal investigations
3. Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-agency environment.
4. Proven ability to work as part of a team
5. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
6. Ability to work outside of normal hours if required
7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel
8. Ability to make clear, timely, justifiable decisions.
9. Basic keyboard skills
It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria:
1. Proven experience of working in a Safeguarding environment.
2. Joint Investigation Trained (JIT) and Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) trained
3. Knowledge of criminal law and crime recording.
The residency requirement for this role is three years.
Hours of work are 37 hours Monday to Friday; compressed hours would be considered.
There is an expectation for travel to locations within Suffolk for meetings.
