Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) Operative - Bradford
To sustain and support our current Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) requirements, we are pleased to offer a vacancy opportunity to join our existing dedicated AVP Operative based in Bradford.
This part-time role offers competitive out-of-hours unsocial rates on top of the basic salary indicated. You can expect on average, per annum, in the region of £3,000 in unsocial payments subject to NHS terms and conditions. Please contact us for further information.
Our training package includes Level 2 Apprenticeship and access to Level 2 NCFE.
Main Duties of the Job
Duties to include:
1. Processing ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way to ensure each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient.
2. Performing detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities.
3. Checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment.
4. Restocking all consumables and completing vehicle checks.
5. Preparing consumables, stock control, re-fuelling, and moving vehicles across various locations.
6. Recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.
No experience is required as full training will be given. An initial 4-week Training package forms part of your Learning and Development.

Job Responsibilities
A DRIVING LICENSE WITH C1 CLASS IS ESSENTIAL - You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category on your license which is valid within the UK.
The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand and can include Bank Holidays, weekends, and nights. A significant percentage of our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed overnight. However, night and weekend working does attract unsocial payments which could mean pay increasing to approximately £15K per annum depending on shift patterns.
Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days (pro-rata) depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays on a pro-rata basis. * Previous cleaning experience
* Working knowledge of COSHH / Risk Assessments
* Previous knowledge of Infection Control Procedures
Personal / Other
* Driving licence with full Category C1 entitlement, valid in the UK.
* Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
* Ability to work unsocial hours on a 7 day/24 hour shift rota system.
* Previous experience of implementing effective Infection Prevention and Control measures.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Good literacy and numerical skills in order to pass the required examinations and tests.
* Candidates must indicate an acceptance of and commitment to the principles underlying the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy.
* Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessments preferably associated with standard procedures and practices within the cleaning services sector.
* Ability to complete tasks and achieve results.
* Effective communicator both verbal and written.
* Basic IT Skills (Email, Internet, Office) including hand-held data devices (Tablets, Telephones).
* Ability to work alone and deal with a number of issues in accordance with written procedures using initiative.
