Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monthly Financial Statements:
- Assist in the preparation and production of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts.
- Prepare budgets and conduct variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies.
2. Financial Performance Analysis:
- Analyse financial performance to support business planning and forecasting efforts.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
3. Month-End Process and Audit:
- Prepare and provide financial information for the month-end process.
- Compile and manage the Balance Sheet reconciliation pack to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
4. Fixed Assets Management:
- Oversee the fixed assets register, ensuring all items are properly recorded, live, and accurately depreciated.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of the fixed assets register.
5. Stock Management:
- Manage the stock listing, ensuring it is updated and reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Address any discrepancies and ensure accurate stock reporting.
6. Transaction Validation:
- Validate and ensure that transactions performed in various systems within the business are correctly translated into the financial ledgers.
- Work closely with relevant departments to ensure accurate financial recording.
7. Support Services:
- Provide a support service by working collaboratively with all departments and the management team.
- Assist in financial decision-making by providing relevant financial insights and data.
8. Additional Duties:
- Perform any other tasks and duties as requested by the Financial Controller.
Qualifications:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Finalist is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in management accounting or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and budgeting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
