Job summary An exciting opportunity in the Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation on behalf of the North East and North Cumbria Regional Imaging Academy to facilitate the development of a network-wide and paediatric focused ultrasound training programme to support education and training for the multi-professional workforce both medical and non-medical while expanding the capacity to train in ultrasound within the region particularly focused on paediatric ultrasound training, encompassing the use of training dedicated ultrasound lists, simulated training using simulators and simulated reporting environment which will provide sustainability for the future and will align with the region wide aims and target to develop and expand the paediatric ultrasound services within NENC. The post holder will lead regionally in ultrasound education, CPD and practice development for the NENC Imaging Academy, via a range of educational delivery routes and working closely with the NENC Imaging Network and HEIs.We are looking for enthusiastic sonographers with extensive experience of work in adult and paediatric sonography with previous experience of teaching and training in sonography in particular. NO AGENCIES PLEASE Main duties of the job Post holder will be performing different types of ultrasound with main focus on paediatric sonography within the Royal Victoria Infirmary radiology department within the newly developing ultrasound training and simulation suite with focus on the multi-professional workforce training and development in sonography, particularly paediatric ultrasound provision within a training dedicated ultrasound list. Successful candidate will be developing training material for both clinical and simulated sonography training within the region as part of the regional imaging academy using a paediatric ultrasound simulator and the simulated/virtual learning environment in the Northern Radiology Academy Simulation Suites. Also the post holder will be developing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) material for the NENC Imaging Academy for the use of the multi-professional workforce utilising different methods of educational material delivery.
