What will I be doing as a Senior Technical Plant Engineer?
Please note that this role is often field-based, with visits to sites across the UK. You must be flexible, as no two weeks are the same. Sometimes you may be away for 2-3 nights, while other times you may be away the whole week or have no site visits at all. Therefore, any previous field engineering background is a bonus.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Recovery & Processing, you'll be part of a vital team, ensuring our sites operate at maximum efficiency. You will help and lead other team members, enjoying the opportunity to mentor others with the skills you have learned. From processing resources into reusable materials to generating energy from landfill, you'll provide critical mechanical technical support across our plants. This includes enhancing operational efficiency, supporting a variety of innovative waste-to-resource processes, and ensuring we meet and exceed industry standards. Your responsibilities will span mechanical engineering repairs, outage plans/fixes, project engineering with some project management, hands-on commissioning, and breakdown support.
To make the cut, you must have a proven and strong background in mechanical engineering with a corresponding industry qualification and experience in a related sector, such as process, power, or heavy engineering industries, along with a solid understanding of environmental legislation and management systems. We're looking for someone who can keep things running smoothly, help us identify areas for improvement, and enjoys working within a very friendly and fun team.
