Job Description:
Estio Training is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for a L4 Cyber Security Technologist Apprentice at County Linen.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a proactive Cyber Security Technician with a strong focus on IT and asset management. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining our IT systems, including the patching and security of mobile devices, servers, and PCs, as well as managing detailed asset registers and tracking OS versions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cybersecurity & Patch Management: Regularly apply security patches to mobile devices, servers, and PCs, ensuring all systems remain secure and up to date.
* Asset Management: Maintain comprehensive asset registers, including detailed records of devices, software, and operating system versions for effective tracking and compliance.
* User Support: Provide responsive IT support to in-house users through phone, email, and in-person interactions, resolving IT-related issues promptly.
* New Employee Setup: Configure machines for new employees, add them to our domain, and install necessary software, following our security protocols.
* Active Directory Management: Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory, ensuring security policies are applied consistently.
* Registry and Group Policies: Develop skills in creating and deploying Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and rules via RegEdit to enhance security settings and standardise configurations.
* Server Maintenance: Oversee daily server backups, ensuring data is securely stored and backup processes are completed successfully.
* Asset Lifecycle Management: Ensure that all devices, including phones, servers, and PCs, are maintained through their lifecycle, from deployment to decommissioning, and securely disposed of as needed.
* Specialised Software Management: Support the ABS industrial laundry system and the Micross system, which are essential to our operations, including report generation, product updates, and order management.
Qualifications:
* Educational Requirements: 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.
Skills Required:
* Strong knowledge of patch management, cybersecurity, and asset tracking for IT infrastructure.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, especially in Windows environments.
* Experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Active Directory.
* Familiarity with RegEdit, GPO deployment, and server backup procedures.
* Ability to work with specialised software (ABS and Micross) and adapt to new systems as needed.
