Fixed Term Contract for 12 months An exciting opportunity has arisen for an initiative-taking Head of Service to join our Children s Social Care department, which is based in the Civic Centre, Keynsham leading the Care Outcomes teams. B&NES has an Ofsted rating of Good for its work with Children and Young People. Ofsted inspectors also commented favourably on the quality of direct work with young people and commented that Social Workers spoken to by inspectors are positive about working in B&NES. The role has responsibility for overseeing the Children In Care Team, Family Placement Team. Disabled Children s Team, Adolescent and Child Exploitation Team, and the Care Experienced Team. We seek applicants with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, who have a friendly, patient and confident approach with colleagues, other professionals and members of the public. Applicants also need to have very strong organisational skills to manage and prioritise their work effectively and in a timely way. The successful candidate will have experience of managing teams, be proficient at analysing key data information systems and have the child/young person/family at the centre of their work and decisions.
