About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Peterborough. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have a range of learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other SEN needs, to help them access the curriculum and develop their skills in a nurturing environment. You will support both inside and outside the classroom, working alongside teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to SEN students. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles. Support students in managing their behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Work closely with the classroom teacher to monitor student progress and contribute to their educational development. Help with personal care tasks as necessary. Foster a safe and encouraging learning environment. The Ideal Candidate Previous experience working with SEN students is highly desirable. A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work well in a team and take direction from teachers and senior staff.
