IT Infrastructure Specialist | Outside IR35 | Day rate up to 250PD | Location - Glasgow/ Edinburgh
Are you passionate about IT and eager to work with cutting-edge technology? We’re looking for an IT Infrastructure Specialist to build, deploy, and maintain a range of IT systems. Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage & Support IT Infrastructure – Oversee and maintain critical IT systems, including Windows Server, Virtualization, Unix Server apps, Storage Area Networks, and Networking technologies.
2. Provide Technical Support – Offer technical support and solutions to staff, partners, and users, ensuring high-quality service delivery and system performance.
3. Collaborate on IT Projects – Contribute your technical skills to exciting projects, enhancing and deploying IT infrastructure solutions.
4. Enhance IT Service Management – Drive a process-focused approach to IT Service Management, ensuring all targets and KPIs are met for customer satisfaction and smooth IT operations.
5. Mentor & Develop Team Members – Support and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
6. Ensure Reliability & Performance – Help maintain system reliability and resolve technical issues in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
7. Lead Change and Technical Improvements – Take charge of technical changes, implementing improvements to systems and processes while ensuring minimal disruption.
Key Requirements:
1. Experience – Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supporting IT infrastructure, networks, and systems. Familiarity with technologies such as client/server management, network security, and Unix/Windows-based systems.
2. Technical Skills – Expertise in areas like Fortinet Firewall, Avaya IPT Networking, Extreme EXOS LAN Switching, WLAN management, and IT security controls.
3. Certifications – ITIL v3 Foundation (required), PRINCE2 (desirable), and other technical certifications relevant to the role.
4. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills – Ability to analyze complex technical issues, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvements.
5. Communication – Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Team Player & Independent Worker – Able to collaborate across teams but also take initiative and work autonomously to solve complex problems.
