We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of the team.
You will lead and manage the team of medical training office staff at Basildon Hospital to ensure high quality administrative support for medical education and training.
A key area of responsibility will be to support the Site Director of Medical Education to ensure that the standards and objectives of the educational agreement between the Trust and its stakeholders (postgraduate: NHSE East of England/undergraduate: medical schools) are met.
You will be required to deputise for the MSEFT Senior Medical Education Manager and will have oversight of the doctors in training agenda and will be responsible for medical training and education requirements.
• Responsible for liaison with Stakeholders and Quality teams at NHSE East of England with ongoing Improvement Plans and planned site visits
• Liaison with the Royal Colleges/Medical Schools
• Problem solving skills/use of own initiative
• Excellent communicator requiring tact when dealing with complex information which may be contentious as well as sensitive.
• To interpret and highlight areas of concern on the Education Funding Agreement
• Planning a range of complex events such as Induction, Exams, Careers events
• Collates, interprets, analyses and presents complex data
• Ensure the Site Director of Medical Education; Leads for Undergraduate Medical Education, GPST Programme Director receive appropriate administrative and secretarial support by delegating work to appropriate staff.
• To deputise for the MSEFT Senior Medical Education Manager as required.
• Ensuring the monitoring and effective use of Medical Education budgets and income.
• Management of the Medical Training Office staff in meeting undergraduate and postgraduate contractual requirements and clinical attachments.
• Monitor staff performance through day-to-day management, 1:1 meetings and undertaking appraisals, identifying training opportunities
• Day to day management responsibility for Clinical Teaching Fellows
• Responsible for the trainee study leave, medical student and doctors data base systems
• Complex minutes taken/transcribed at quarterly Medical Education/Induction, trainee meetings
