The role of the Technical Architect is to work within the account Architecture practice, reporting to the Account TDA, and is responsible for designing and governing the implementation of infrastructure solutions. The role is responsible for producing architectural artefacts including high- & low-level designs, options papers and other technical documentation. As the Technical Architect you will work with Operational and Project teams to design new solutions, enhance existing solutions and troubleshoot issues affecting service.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Location
UK wide with travel to Barrow in Furness twice a week.
Your role
As a Technical Architect within this role, you will have a key role in:
* Technical Solution Design – Being responsible and accountable for the design of an integrated technical solution across all streams of a project or small programme.
* Problem-Solving & Risk Management – Understanding technical challenges and complexities, liaising with technical leads to develop integrated solutions, identifying risks, and advising on mitigation strategies.
* Stakeholder Coordination – Promoting collaboration among technical stream leaders, coaching and facilitating coordination to achieve a successful delivery.
* Project Support & Documentation – Supporting project and programme managers in understanding technical risks, dependencies, and issues while ensuring traceability and compatibility with the project’s technical architecture.
* Standards & Best Practices – Supporting the Solutions Architect in developing and enhancing standards, policies, and guidelines while driving their adoption.
* Governance & Quality Assurance – Performing audits, peer reviews, and due diligence as required. This role is primarily remote, but site visits are expected as required by projects.
Your skills and experience
If you have extensive experience in infrastructure architecture and technical solution delivery, along with a strong background in supporting complex enterprise projects, this role could be the right fit for you. So, what kind of skills and qualities are we looking for?
* Technical Expertise – Strong knowledge in Server hardware & software, File systems, DFS, Load Balancing, Databases, Virtualisation, Storage, Backup, and Unix-based systems.
* Infrastructure Architecture & Transformation – Demonstrable experience in reviewing and creating design documents as a subject matter expert for large-scale transformations and migrations.
* Documentation & Communication – Exceptional writing skills, including documenting solution architectures and support information, along with excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Technical Leadership – Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage technical risk, and plan infrastructure tasks within enterprise environments.
* Flexibility & Mobility – Ability to travel as needed for project requirements. You might not meet every requirement – we understand that. Your security clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements. Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality. Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
