We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Director of Music to lead and inspire our thriving music department. This prestigious all-girls school has a long-standing tradition of musical excellence, with one of its most renowned alumnae being Jacqueline du Pré, the world-famous cellist, who attended the school in the 1950s. Her legacy of talent and inspiration continues to shape the school's commitment to nurturing musical ability and enthusiasm across all age groups. The Director of Music leads the vision and creative direction of music of all kinds within the school and seeks to create stimulating opportunities for musicians of all abilities. The role is far-reaching, giving the postholder creative freedom, but also requiring them to lead and manage the Music department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively, and the curriculum is managed and developed in accordance with school policy. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and qualified musician with the credentials to lead a music department and stay current with developments in music education and broader teaching practices. A proven history of achieving excellent academic outcomes across all key stages and teaching Music from Year 7 to A Level is essential and they will also be a dynamic leader who can inspire enthusiasm for Music and actively promote the subject throughout the school.
