Complex Lives Team Leader
Location: Weymouth
Contract: Fixed Term (until 31 st March 2026)
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a senior substance misuse specialist to join us as a Complex Lives Team Leader.
This is a chance to use your experience and skills from frontline homelessness, health, criminal justice, mental health and drug and alcohol roles to bring about genuine change for vulnerable people and the services that support them.
As a Care Quality Commissioned service, the post holder will take responsibility for coaching the team to ensure compliance against our Key Performance Indicators, managing quality and performance, and providing detailed reports to the Operations Board. These will include qualitative/quantitative data: outlining the success of the service, identifying challenges faced by the service and action planning to ensure the continued development and progression of the project.
Please note this position is Part Time (22 hours).
As a Complex Lives Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring the people who use our service are offered fair access to services, challenging discrimination and less favourable treatment and helping them to navigate existing systems by identifying any barriers they face to their preferred care.
* The line management of the Complex Lives team, consisting of two complex lives workers and an administration lead.
There will be excellent support provided to you through the local management team, the psychologist leading reflective practice and through the multi-agency strategic and practice groups actively engaged in making the project a success.
About you
To succeed as a Complex Lives Team Leader, you will ideally have:
* Extensive experience within the substance misuse field, we’re looking for someone with a real passion for working with people who face multiple exclusion and homelessness.
* An understanding of community development, outreach and engagement and will be excited to put this knowledge into practice and support your team to work in this way alongside you.
* Significant experience working with substance misuse services and an in-depth knowledge of drug misuse, treatments, and interventions available.
* Experience of managing caseloads and will be able to organise, coordinate and prioritise referrals and complex cases, through effective key working.
* You’ll work well in partnership with other agencies and will be committed to the multi-disciplinary working, building relationships and improving or creating new pathways.
* Excellent communication, you’ll have a real passion for solving problems. You’ll need to be proactive, compassionate, and empathetic but also resilient and confident to challenge where appropriate to get the best outcome for the people who use our service.
