DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
* Oversee the management of drivers and assistants, ensuring that each team member receives the necessary training and tools to perform their duties effectively while maintaining compliance at all times.
* Monitor and enhance both individual and site performance, ensuring adherence to established processes and the achievement of contractual KPIs.
* Take responsibility for the legal and efficient execution of transport operations, serving as the named CPC holder on the operator license.
* Maintain service schedules and ensure all O license commitments are fulfilled, addressing any defects promptly and ensuring that vehicles out of service (VOR) are kept off the road until resolved.
* Coordinate staff training by assessing the training needs of drivers and assistants, ensuring all employees are proficient in using the tools, equipment, and vehicles relevant to their roles.
* Manage operational costs and analyze cost performance trends, such as fuel efficiency and accident rates.
* Supervise a team of approximately 100 individuals and manage a fleet of around 50 vehicles.
What We Require From You:
* A minimum of 2 years of practical experience as a Transport Supervisor in a logistics environment.
* Familiarity with Working Time Legislation and EU driving regulations.
* Strong influencing and leadership abilities.
* Proficient in computer use, with practical experience in logistics software such as Key 2 and Tachomaster preferred.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the capability to supervise, organize, and train direct reports.
* CPC qualification is essential.
