Main Duties of the Job
In addition to standard nursing/therapeutic duties, the post holders will be:
* Accountable for clinical governance and leadership within the service.
* Expected to work across organisational and professional boundaries.
* Develop effective partnerships across George Eliot NHS Trust, The Foundation Group and local healthcare systems.
* Implementing evidence-based practice throughout all aspects of care delivery and treatment.
Job Responsibilities
Work autonomously as an advanced practitioner within the specialty, managing a caseload of patients and delivering individualised direct patient care.
Direct responsibility for assessment, examination, investigation and diagnosis of patients within the area of work.
Provide visible and accessible professional leadership and demonstrate expert knowledge and standards of clinical practice.
Lead and develop a defined area of clinical practice within the designated area, promoting interdisciplinary team and collaborative working practices.
Act as an expert educational resource for clinical staff, patients, and carers by providing formal and informal education.
Participate and lead or assist in research projects as required, disseminating and ensuring the utilisation of research results to change practice.

Experience and Knowledge
* Experience of working autonomously within ward/area/specialty of the specific role.
* Able to work with a diverse range of internal/external stakeholders.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD.
* Evidence of teaching in various environments.
* Experience of delivering service improvement.
* Ability to clinically lead and influence others.
* Evidence of research and audit.
* Publication in healthcare journals.
* Proven leadership skills.
Qualification and Professional Training
* Post graduate qualification in a specific specialty or equivalent experience.
* Masters Level (MSc) degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
* Recognised Advanced Health Assessment qualification (Minimum Masters level course).
* Professional Registration: NMC or HPCP registered.
* Independent prescriber.
* Recognised Teaching & Mentoring qualification.
Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrate clinical and procedural skills relevant to the role.
* Advanced knowledge of the range of presentations, diagnosis, and current management options within the specialty area.
* Able to use skills of history taking and physical assessment to direct patient care.
* Evidence of planning and organisational skills.
