Position: Electrical Control Panel Builder

SQ Partners client are seeking a skilled Electrical Control Panel Builder to join their Automation team. This position will involve working closely with the Automation Technicians to produce electrical wiring diagrams and contribute to the construction and installation of electrical control systems.

Experience & Knowledge:
Essential:
* Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g., apprenticeship or equivalent).
Desirable:
* Familiarity with automated production machinery or similar capital equipment.
* Experience working in a project environment with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Automation team to build, wire, and install control panels for electrical control systems.
* Review panel components against issued wiring diagrams and control panel layouts to ensure accuracy.
* Assemble control panel enclosures, including building plinths, assembling bays, and side panels.
* Layout chassis plates according to the panel designs, collaborating with the Electrical Design Draughtsman to ensure optimal layout and design.
* Install and secure components onto chassis plates.
* Wire the control panels based on issued diagrams, working closely with the Electrical Design Draughtsman and Automation Technicians to ensure proper assembly.
* Mark up wiring diagrams as wiring is completed, raising any discrepancies or errors with the Electrical Design Draughtsman and Automation Technician.
* Cut apertures within the control panels to accommodate components like fans, filters, and power sockets.
* Work with Automation Installation electricians to install the control panels into filling lines and machines.
