Job Title: Senior Engineer – Structural Engineering
Location: Barrow in Furness or Manchester. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are available.

Key Responsibilities
* Analysis of complex steel structures utilizing Eurocodes, British Standards, and BAE standards to support submarine build.
* Utilize knowledge of specific regulations and requirements beyond those used within BAE Systems, including LOLER, codes of compliance, weld specifications, and geometric tolerance.
* Responsible for utilizing computer-based analytical techniques, including finite element analysis, CAD modeling, and engineering schematics.
* Provide support to the construction team in using equipment designed for production.
* Support production of concept drawings, layouts, and other technical outputs consistent with contractual requirements to meet target dates.
* Responsible for substantiation analysis and checking.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Engineering Degree (BEng/MEng) or equivalent / OR HND with extensive years' experience.
* Expertise in structural steel analysis.
* Experience of LOLER and/or Eurocodes.
* Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software (ABAQUS preferable).
* Previous knowledge in a production environment.
Desirable:
* Heavy Engineering experience within construction, marine, offshore, civil, agricultural industries.
* Chartered Engineer.

The Specialist Structures Team
Work in a dual-function team (design and engineers) consisting of 40 people at various seniority levels. The immediate team size is 14, responsible for engineering assessments of designs in support of build.
Collaborate with design to produce equipment and/or support operation in production to produce safety-critical equipment.
