About the role
You’ll be joining the LATAM & MEA Onboarding and Controls team which is expanding Wise into many new countries in Latin America, Middle East & Africa.
The team's primary objective is to develop and enhance financial crime controls while continuously improving the customer onboarding experience.
What will you be working on?
1. Building & improving finCrime processes (screening, fraud etc) within the frameworks of specific regions.
2. Building & improving KYC processes.
3. You’ll scale the best in class products while ensuring the learnings you have in-market are shared back with our other global regions.
4. Enable the team to expand and enhance offerings in the UAE, Mexico, South Africa, and other key markets this year.
5. Ultimately, improving the onboarding experience for Wise customers in the region.
Qualifications
What do you need?
We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!
You will:
1. Have contributed in development of scalable and performing systems.
2. Worked with microservices architecture, asynchronous message queues and SQL databases.
3. Be familiar with Java/Kotlin, preferably with Spring Boot.
4. Hands on experience building integrations with external partners.
5. Have a strong product mindset and passion for user experience, prioritising work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points.
6. Advocate for best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback.
