To be responsible for the smooth, efficient operation of all incubators and ancillary equipment. To maintain to a high standard of service, ensuring all faults are investigated as soon as noticed and corrected as soon as possible. To ensure all incubation and ancillary equipment are monitored daily on a regular basis and to repair and correct faults as necessary. To cause least damage or deterioration of eggs, embryos or livestock. To aid the Maintenance Manager in ensuring appropriate supplies of stock and spares relevant to incubators, ancillary and automatic handling equipment, in order that downtime can be minimised during repairs and servicing. To operate and ensure that equipment operates in a safe manner to prevent injury to the individual. To ensure all legislation work, i.e. Electricity at Work Act, etc. is carried out as per legislation. To ensure all alarm systems are checked and maintained, so that they are fully operational at all times. To report and liaise with the management team so that they are aware or concerns about anticipated future problems. To keep accurate records relating to equipment servicing, legislative work and to log breakdowns, major part replacements as necessary. To maintain workshop area and store in a satisfactory state of tidiness and cleanliness. To undertake other duties as necessary relating to areas of repairs and maintenance. This is a 4 on 4 off shift rotation of days and night - 0600-1800/1800-0600 However, shift patterns may vary depending on Hatchery needs NVQ Level 3 or equivalent - Electrical & Mechanical
