Description
As our Project Manager within the Strategic Projects & Change Unit you will play a pivotal role in supporting the strategic direction of the university. You will collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across various academic schools and departments to manage a diverse range of projects, from inception through to completion.
This role offers the opportunity to work on key strategic initiatives, manage resources, deliver on project objectives, and contribute to best practices in project management.
About the Role
In this role, you will lead, plan, and manage small to large-scale projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, managing risks, and ensuring clear, effective communication throughout.
A key part of your responsibilities will involve developing and promoting best practice project methodologies across the university. You will also coordinate and motivate project teams to ensure project deliverables are well understood and met, while providing senior management with project briefs and reports to ensure alignment with the university's overall strategy.
About You
You will have a degree or equivalent professional experience, with a proven record of managing projects of various scales. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging stakeholders at all levels. A project management qualification (e.g., Prince2 Practitioner) and experience in Higher Education are desirable.
The role demands excellent organisational, influencing, and negotiation abilities, along with self-motivation, effective time management, and the capacity to collaborate across teams, handle pressure, balance priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also crucial.
Additional Information
This is a part-time 0.6 role, on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Salary: Grade 7, GBP 22,259 to GBP 25,039 per annum, GBP 37,099 to GBP 41,732 pro-rata.
