Job Description
To provide supervisory cover for study periods and manage curriculum information for all subjects. Key Duties:
1. To attend and administer class registers for study periods.
2. To be responsible for supervising students during their independent study periods.
3. To update the electronic register system correctly.
4. To manage curriculum information.
5. To carry out general administrative tasks including (but not limited to) the following:
6. Structuring, uploading and administering resources on MiPlace for independent study sessions.
7. Creating interactive resources following instructions from teachers and with approval i.e. quizzes thereby reinforcing and improving students’ knowledge and understanding.
8. Using online systems to direct students to relevant websites as per teachers' requests.
9. Ensure that Study Session work is harmonious with our Study team’s focus and communicate with them as well as teachers.
10. Take responsibility for and support students with work completion, meeting deadlines and attendance of BTEC students in particular.
11. Checking attendance registers, liaising with teachers and personal supervisors as well as students.
12. To provide cover (as appropriate) for other administrators and reception if and when required.
13. Committed to equality, diversity and safeguarding practice with young people and vulnerable adults.
14. Any other reasonable duties as requested by Line Manager and SMT members.
Requirements
Person Specification
1. Skill and experience of ensuring electronic work and uploads look tidy, interesting and attractive to students.
2. Artistic.
3. Effective administration skills.
4. Confident and capable with their IT skills.
5. Excellent team worker.
6. Good communication skills: interpersonal, group, written and verbal.
7. Flexibility and the capacity to adapt effectively to rapidly changing situations.
8. Fully committed to the ethos and values of the college.
9. Computer literate.
1. Educated to level 2 or above in ICT.
2. Experience in a secondary school, FE sector college or equivalent.
3. Experience of dealing with 12-18 year olds.
