We are looking for a skilled Quality Assurance and Maintenance Technician to join our clients team in Aberdeen.
About the Role:
As a Quality Assurance and Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in upholding high standards of quality and compliance across various oilfield operations. From exploration to decommissioning, youll ensure that tools, equipment, and procedures meet industry regulations, as well as our own stringent internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Compliance
* Oversee quality control procedures to ensure all work aligns with industry and company standards.
* Develop and implement inspection processes for incoming, in-process, and outgoing components.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement
* Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
* Lead Lean or Six Sigma projects to enhance quality and reduce variability in assembly and maintenance workflows.
* Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues, proposing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Quality Control & Testing
* Perform detailed quality checks on parts, assemblies, and tools to detect defects and verify functionality.
* Use non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and other protocols to assess component integrity.
* Regularly review and update testing standards to stay aligned with industry advancements.
Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain accurate records of inspection results, non-conformances, and quality performance data.
* Generate quality trend reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Collaborate with internal teams to keep documentation accessible and up-to-date for traceability and regulatory compliance.
Training & Development
* Train team members on quality control standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.
* Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the workshop through training and awareness initiatives.
Supplier Quality Management
* Coordinate with suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards for parts and materials.
* Manage supplier-related non-conformances and work to resolve issues collaboratively
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance
* Ensure that all quality procedures comply with HSE standards, maintaining a focus on worker safety.
* Work with HSE teams to align quality initiatives with safety protocols and procedures.
Customer Focus
* Act as a quality liaison for clients, ensuring compliance with their specific quality requirements.
* Handle client quality-related concerns and work to provide timely and effective solutions.
Collaboration with Maintenance Teams
* Work alongside maintenance and assembly technicians to address quality concerns.
* Provide technical expertise and support to resolve quality-related issues during the assembly and overhaul process.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in a quality assurance, maintenance, or related technical role within oilfield services or a similar environment.
* Strong understanding of quality control, compliance, and inspection processes.
* Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
* Skilled in non-destructive testing (NDT) and other testing protocols.
* Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
