We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Natural Resources Team. In this role you'll provide commercial support to the project teams on our 7-year, c£1bn framework with Southern Water. Location : Working from home and site/offices in Chatham, Kent Contract : Permanent, Full Time – flexible and part time hours may be available if desired, just let us know Responsibilities We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our NRNN business unit Water business unit looking after the Southern Water Framework. The successful candidate will provide commercial support to the project teams, maintaining commercial information and ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Liaising with the customer and third parties on commercial issues you'll look at agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments. The role will support the Commercial Manager and MQS delivering work for AMP 8 in clean and wastewater. Your day to day will include: Management of a £40m package of works on including the management of a team of junior QS' mentoring and nurturing their development to assist with the following tasks where applicable. Providing commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI's are met / exceeded Working closely with the wider Commercial Team to advise on commercial strategy to ensure successful conversion of opportunities and profitability of work undertaken. Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk management. Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project level and preparing as well as updating monthly VCR's, cost and produce, accurate forecasts and budget information. What are we looking for? This Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you have: A relevant Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying. Proven experience in a senior commercial capacity managing teams of significant size. Preferably in the Water sector and or within regulated utilities. Knowledge and experience of NEC forms of contract as well as current Construction Law. Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, and accruals calculations. Experience in procurement and working alongside procurement team to implement programme and project procurement strategy goals.
