Office Manager / Administrator - Buckinghamshire Primary Pupil Referral Unit - Woodlands
Location: High Wycombe
Term time only
Salary Type: Bucks pay
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: This is a full time role (8.30 am to 3.30 pm each day) during term time. We will consider part time or job share for the right applicants.
About us
At the Buckinghamshire Primary Pupil Referral Unit, we provide support for children experiencing significant social, emotional, or mental health difficulties in their mainstream primary school. Children may be supported by outreach or by attendance at one of our units. We serve all maintained primary schools in Buckinghamshire. You will find more information about what we do and who we support on our website www.bucksprimarypru.co.uk.
About the role
You will be part of the wider administration team, which is split across our three sites, and you will have day-to-day responsibility for the running of our office at Woodlands. The office manager is responsible for managing the office telephone and email, setting up and maintaining pupil records, supporting the booking and producing of paperwork for offsite activities, and providing support to SLT to ensure that the site is safe for pupils and staff. The role is varied, and you will be one of our ‘go-to’ people to provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the site and wider school admin team.
About you
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy office, preferably in a school setting. Full training and support will be provided. The candidate will be an effective communicator (both orally and written), have a good eye for detail, and understand the need for confidentiality. No two days are the same at the PRU, and the postholder should be flexible, able to manage conflicting priorities and ‘last minute’ tasks, and confident to work on their own initiative. If you have a ‘can do’ attitude, enjoy multi-tasking, and are interested in helping us to ensure that our pupils have the best opportunities, then we would like to hear from you.
Other information
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. To arrange a visit or to find out more about the role, please contact our school office on the number below. Please send completed application forms to the email address below. All applications must be on Buckinghamshire Council application forms.
The Buckinghamshire Primary PRU is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. References will be sought, and an enhanced DBS check and an online profile search will be carried out for shortlisted candidates.
