MAIN PURPOSE: Build, drive and deliver an inspiring, inclusive and exciting marketing and communications strategy to raise the profile of Brainkind and build it’s brand presence in line with Brainkind’s strategy to deliver leading-edge services, share clinical expertise and drive social action to change outcomes for the millions of people living with a brain injury in the UK.
Devise and execute strategies to develop marketing plans, creating engaging collateral to bring together the internal and external communications in one concerted push to engage and galvanise stakeholders, inspiring a small but creative team to deliver quality marketing and communications outcomes.
To support delivery of the fundraising strategy, ensuring Brainkind builds its voluntary income streams across all areas.
To support Brainkind’s policy, campaigning and social change programmes, ensuring this work is evidence-based, leveraging all opportunities for system, policy and societal change.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To deliver strategic marketing outcomes for Brainkind, underpinning strategic objectives with stellar, multi-channel marketing approaches.
Devise and oversee the management of an events programme for Brainkind, such as conferences.
To build and develop marketing and advertising campaigns, which cement Brainkind’s brand in the marketplace and drive action.
To lead the marketing and communications team to build a roster of celebrity ambassadors and patrons, engaging them in Brainkind’s work in a meaningful way.
To lead the delivery of a successful events programme, which helps build Brainkind’s thought leadership activity across multiple platforms, including our own webinars and headline brain injury conference.
To lead the Marketing Manager to create and commission a wide range of effective and creative marketing materials, including video content, brochures, leaflets and newsletters ensuring effective distribution via a range of channels.
To lead the Marketing Manager to produce and manage the distribution of these using internal resources and external contractors, ensuring a timely and cost effective approach.
To work with the Directors across Brainkind to act as an ambitious brand guardian, ensuring that the new brand is delivered in a creative way, which cuts through to different audiences.
Lead the evaluation processes including brand tracking and create reports to share insights with the ELT and SLT as appropriate.
To build media relations activity, identifying key contacts and building a network of media contacts, receptive to furthering Brainkind’s story and shining a light on the injustices people affected by a brain injury face.
Manage media relations, develop press releases and coordinate public appearances to enhance Brainkind’s reputation.
To undertake any reasonable travelling requirements in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
About you Relevant university level Education.
English language and Mathematics GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).
Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate or equivalent qualification in Communications or Marketing.
Proven experience and knowledge of creating and delivering strategic marketing and communications plans in support of organizational goals to multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrable knowledge of developing and delivering systematic communications and marketing activity.
Proven knowledge about media relations and developing the right narrative for outlets and protecting brand identities.
Solid knowledge of crisis communications principles.
Sound understanding of the effectiveness of various communications channels and the ability to translate complex information into meaningful communications.
Clear knowledge and experience of creating engaging collateral, and deploying the right message across multiple platforms and channels.
Sound knowledge of the latest marketing practices, including in a digital forum.
Solid experience of delivering crisis communications and protecting organisational reputation.
Proven knowledge of creating and delivering integrated, strategic marketing and communications plans, in support of organisational goals, to multiple stakeholders.
Ability/willingness to travel and stay overnight to meeting the operational need.
