Job Description
Job responsibilities
This 8 session post would be ideal for a GP with an interest in Community Frailty as one session a week will be supporting our care home patients at Princes Court, one session per week providing GP clinical support to the North Tyneside Intermediate Care Unit (rehab unit) as well as work with the Community Frailty ITP registrar focusing on delivering the best care for our elderly housebound population. A GP trainer is ideal but not necessary as long as you have a desire to be involved in education.
Routine surgery sessions are limited to 13 contacts per surgery, including a mixture of telephone, face-to-face, and continuity slots for individual clinicians to use. Any Duty work is between 8.30 am and 5 pm, late duties (until 6 pm) are shared with our sister site Nelson Medical Group and only tend to cover a 6 pm finish once per fortnight on average, less as the team expands. Our face-to-face appointments are 15 minutes as standard and any registrar supervision has protected slot time.
The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary Practice team to provide general medical services for the needs of the practice population and to help ensure the Practice provides the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
The post holder will manage a busy caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.
The post holder is expected to contribute to the operational and strategic management of the practices within Northumbria Primary care and there are opportunities for personal and professional development across a wide range of areas within primary and secondary care.
