Solution Lead Network Connectivity - SM-WAN

The Solution Lead Network Connectivity role works within the Chief Technology Office (CTO) reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Connectivity. The purpose of this role is to contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of DCC’s products and services, and interface with Energy Suppliers, Smart Energy Code (SEC) Parties, Communication Service Providers, and Device Manufacturers. This role will enjoy a varied and diverse workload ranging from technical design, project work, testing and assurance, contract and regulatory review, customer, and supplier engagement. It involves various amounts of travel to external sites and some flexible working is required.
What will you be doing?
1. Be a trusted point of contact for Energy Suppliers, SEC Parties, Industry Organisations, and DCC Service Providers, regarding the Smart Metering WAN.
2. Provide DCC with insight into SM-WAN issues & concerns from the perspective of DCC’s Service Users and other stakeholders.
3. Establish robust relationships and maintain regular contact with Energy Suppliers / SEC Parties, DCC suppliers and their subcontractors, and other relevant organisations.
4. Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in the domain of SM-WAN by interfacing with DCC’s Service Providers and other organisations as required.
5. Lead and coach a team of SM-WAN Experts to deliver the roadmap.
6. Field and Test Lab qualification of SM-WAN issues.
What are we looking for?
1. Experience of execution of project deliverables and on-site customer and supplier engagement.
2. Experience of technical defect triage, test, validation, & qualification.
3. Experience of technical documentation and authoring with some exposure to Supply Chain and Logistics.
4. Experience working in 2G/3G/4G Mobile, Wireless Wide Area and Home Area Networks.
5. Must be self-starting, have a strong work ethic with great time management skills.
6. Must have the ability and proven experience of being able to perform under pressure and to work using own initiative as well as part of a team.
