Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer
You'll be:
* Handling work activities that include both project and proposal work where both the technical approach and continuity must be aligned.
* Acting as the functional Lead Engineer for projects as required by the C&I Group Manager.
* Executing work activities for both projects and proposals across all phases including Conceptual Studies, Basic, FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement through to Commissioning.
* Managing projects and proposals for process plants and facilities across the Chemical, Oil and Gas, Power and Energy Transition/New Energy sectors.
* Executing project work which will include development of Instrument Engineering deliverables on a project-by-project basis.
* Assisting the C&I Group Manager.
* Developing corporate procedures, standards, specifications, and design tools for compliance with the SHE policy and efficient execution of production work.
* Defining the development and training needs for the discipline, supporting graduate and young Engineer/designer development.
You'll have:
* Significant experience in Instrument Engineering Design on medium/large capital projects from concept to start-up.
* Extensive Chemical and/or Refinery experience. Competent in working within the C&I Discipline of a contracting organization.
* Competent to lead the C&I Discipline interface with other Disciplines.
* Very good proactive communicator; the role involves liaison with Client Engineers & Project Management.
* Degree qualified in a related discipline.
* Have or working towards Chartered Engineer status as a Member of the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
* Proven ability for equipment specification and selection, ensuring compliance from suppliers, preferably within an EPC contracting organization.
* Competent in project execution using selected design tools and techniques.
* Competent in budget & schedule control/monitoring and reporting.
* Ability to work to Company standards.
* Innovative when appropriate.
* Competent in Electrical protection methodologies.
* Competent in specification, technical bid analysis, and requisitioning of Field Instrumentation and Analyzers.
* Competent in the application, specification, and requisitioning of DCS, PLC, and SIS systems, with experience of the full system lifecycle.
* Competent in the specification/design/implementation of Hazardous Area Instrumentation (ATEX).
* Competent in Instrumentation and Control requirements for Mechanical packages.
* Competent in P&ID development.
* Competent in sizing of flow devices/control valves/relief devices.
* Experience in Automation and Control life cycle activities.
* Experience in Safety System life cycle activities.
* Familiarity with exSILentia software package preferred.
* Experience of working with and leading global integrated delivery teams is preferred.
