Full – Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Portsmouth, Hampshire GSL Education are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a secondary school in Portsmouth. With a competitive daily pay rate of £85 to £90, this role involves working in the classroom to support students in their learning and help them achieve their full potential. Starting in February/Easter 2025, (depending on notice periods), the position offers the potential for a permanent contract following a successful probation period. Role: As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a key role in the classroom, working closely with teachers and students to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will provide tailored support to students, helping them engage with their work and overcome any challenges they face. Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA): Work collaboratively with teachers to support lesson delivery and student engagement. Assist students with their classwork, ensuring they stay focused and understand the tasks at hand. Provide individual and small-group support to students with varying needs. Help implement personalised learning plans for students requiring additional support. Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation. Monitor and record student progress, sharing insights with the teaching team. Uphold the school’s policies and contribute to the welfare and safeguarding of all students. Requirements of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA): Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable. A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school and its students. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
