We have a current opportunity for an E&I Craftsperson on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Workington. We are seeking applications from experienced E/I Craftspersons to join our skilled team. The successful applicants will be part of a daywork rota system (Monday to Friday) whereby a generous holiday allowance of ten days leave every 7.5 weeks is built into the 8-week rota. Some 12-hour shifts will be required, as is participation in the on-call rota.
The function of the engineering department is to provide engineering resources to carry out preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance for all areas of the site, and also to provide expertise in most engineering disciplines to carry out plant modifications.
Reporting to the E/I Manager, the successful candidate will:
1. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures and engineering standards;
2. Maintain the mill in an optimum and safe condition;
3. Use the engineering management system to source parts/information and select and report history in work orders;
4. Diagnose faults and take action to rectify them;
5. Adhere to the permit to work/isolation system;
6. Work safely within safety and skill remit.
The successful Craftsperson will possess:
1. A recognised Engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 Minimum);
2. A minimum of one year's practical experience in a process industry;
3. Be computer literate with knowledge of the 'Windows Office' suite;
4. Working knowledge of Plant Management databases;
5. Appropriate Health and Safety training - preferred IOSH Working Safety (minimum).
