You must have hospital pharmacy experience, preferably some of this working in a UK hospital, a high level of clinical reasoning and well-developed problem-solving skills and be committed to achieving and maintaining high standards. You must have completed the Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or equivalent clinical pharmacy programme. You must have experience in surgery but with a broad knowledge base of different specialities to be able to support patients. Pharmacist independent prescriber qualification (or a willingness to work towards qualification) is desirable. You must be able to work with senior medical and nursing staff and other health care professionals, influence prescribing and promote practice development. You should also have an interest, and some experience, in training and be able to organise and manage a busy workload.
