Access to Work - Support for Learning Worker
Do you have experience of supporting and caring for the needs of others? Are you interested in developing your skills and working in the Education sector? We're seeking to recruit a Support for Learning Worker to support the daily tasks of a class teacher working alongside our children.
The main duties and responsibilities include supporting with workplace tasks as defined by the teacher and head teacher to support the delivery of teaching and learning along with the provision of care and support to children whilst building positive working relationships and promoting positive behaviour.
You will be required to provide mobility assistance for the teacher within the school premises where required and on any school activities undertaken out with the school.
You will ensure that all class resources identified are well prepared, organised and available as required to support the class teacher. You may also be required to prepare and adapt appropriate resources for pupils under the direction of the teacher.
This description is indicative of the nature and level of responsibilities associated with the Support for Learning Worker role. It is not exhaustive, and the job holder will be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities within the role profile as defined and agreed by the head teacher.
What We Seek:
* You will preferably have experience of working with additional support needs; however, training and support will be provided as required.
* You will have good communication skills and the ability to be an effective team member who can assist and support class teachers.
* You will be able to provide a high standard of care for adults, children, and young people, remain calm in challenging situations, and be empathetic, flexible, and reliable.
* You will be trained, or willing to be trained if required, with complex healthcare needs.
* The preferred candidate will be required to obtain membership of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to formal offer of employment being made.
