We are an innovative and market leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.
We are seeking a product marketing manager (PMM) who will own the UK portfolio of products and services, from legacy products through new product and feature launches. This individual will drive product marketing initiatives that grow market awareness and demand for ESG UK solutions. The PMM will own go-to-market strategies, plans, and sales enablement, will create compelling positioning, and will work with the wider marketing team to execute product launches, support demand generation activities, customer marketing, and more.
This is an individual contributor position with strong functional leadership in an environment in which product marketing is about a year old and growing. The PMM will need to communicate and demonstrate the role so the wider team understands what to expect and how to best engage for mutual benefit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
our responsibilities will include:
• Positioning – Develop and gain consensus on the positioning and messaging for current and new products as well as enhancements. Create messaging that showcases customer benefits for our client/prospect-facing roadmap.
• Product launches – Plan, own, and drive launches of new releases and products, collaborating with product, marketing, and sales teams. Work with product marketing leadership to establish a repeatable process that the wider team understands and embraces.
• Personas – Lead the effort to understand the buyers of our solution, their pain points and success stories; and collaborate to create a messaging plan for the buyer’s journey.
• Product – Collaborate with product management to understand the roadmap and establish the relationships and a cadence to stay close as the roadmap evolves. Engage in discussions with the product team about roadmap benefits and ideas.
• Product content and tools – Develop and partner to create value-oriented content to build awareness and support demand generation and sales, including collateral, website content, videos, webinars, press releases, and customer communications. We are revamping our website and compelling content will be critical to success.
• Sales enablement & training – Partner with product and solutions engineering teams to train sales team during regular sales meetings and webinars. Develop the key messaging sales teams need to highlight benefits and competitive positioning. Create value-oriented sales tools, brochures, and presentations that effectively present ESG’s unique selling proposition to prospects. • Marketing campaigns – Partner with the wider marketing team to strategize lead gen campaigns; create positioning content to support campaigns.
• Thought-leadership – Develop thought leadership content and presentations; manage whitepapers and other longform content to enable sales team success with customers and to drive leads.
• Customer success stories – Lead the creation of, or partner to create, customer success stories (also known as case studies) and derive key messaging to use as testimonials.
• Competitive – Collaborate internally to conduct or understand existing competitive research, create competitive battlecards and training, and conduct win/loss analysis and interviews as this process within the organization evolves.
• Market research – Conduct or manage research to capture industry and customer needs and quantify/qualify our position and opportunities in the marketplace.
ABOUT YOU
Essential:
• 3-5 years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in marketing.
• Experience launching at least one new product or major feature/function enhancement.
• Highly skilled at translating product capabilities into clear, compelling value-oriented positioning and messaging that address customer pain points.
• Proficient writing skills. Able to prioritize key points and provide context for how key points fit into larger stories and why they matter to the reader.
• PowerPoint presentation-building skills; create clear client/prospect-facing presentations for sales teams to showcase products including what the products do, how they solve problems, and the benefits they deliver.
• Adept at working cross-functionally across the team including: o Sales, as your internal customer, equipping them with pitch-deck materials, launch updates, and more o Wider marketing team, partnering on campaign and launch strategies and themes, and providing product positioning and insights o Product management, partnering on launches and deriving key product information and insights through targeted queries
• Located within driving distance to Chorley and willing to be in the office 1-2x a week. This is important for team collaboration, including marketing, sales, and product.
• Ability to travel approximately every 2-3 months for events and offsite meetings.

• Pragmatic Institute training or certification highly desired. Product Marketing Alliance (PMA) also applicable.
