To manage the process of identifying areas of good practice, areas for improvement and improving standards of care throughout the Trust in collaboration with Matrons, CPEs and Ward managers including facilitating and promoting the sharing of good practice throughout the Trust via clinical practice forums and other Trust-wide and national forums. Clinical Governance Responsibilities. In conjunction with the Deputy Chief Nurse, Head of Nursing/Matron, participate in the planning and implementation of quality and risk management initiatives and targets, including CNST, RPST and Controls Assurance requirements. As part of the Professional Development Team participate in the development and maintenance of evidence-based quality standards that are regularly audited, and initiate appropriate changes in practice. In conjunction with the Head of Nursing/Matron, participate in agreed programmes of clinical benchmarking. Conduct and lead appraisal for allocated staff, identifying development needs and ensure all staff have a Personal Development Plan. Support ward staff to acquire the appropriate clinical competencies to deliver safe and effective patient care. Ensure all staff are supported and supervised in a way that promotes professional development, patient safety and well-being. In conjunction with the Head of Nursing/Matron, assist in the supervision and performance management of bank staff. Identify and action own development needs and establish personal clinical supervision/mentorship.
