About The Role
As a Registered Midwife in an Antenatal Clinic, you play a pivotal role in the journey of expectant mothers, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care, guidance, and support throughout their pregnancy. Your expertise and compassionate approach contribute significantly to the health and well-being of both the mother and the developing baby, fostering a positive and reassuring experience during this transformative period.
Primary Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive antenatal care to low-risk pregnant women, providing them with the necessary information, medical assessments, and emotional support to promote a healthy pregnancy. Your duties include:
* Conducting Routine Antenatal Appointments:
o Performing initial pregnancy assessments and taking detailed medical, obstetric, and family histories.
o Monitoring maternal and fetal health through routine observations, including blood pressure checks, fundal height measurements, and fetal heart rate assessments.
o Ordering and interpreting essential screening tests and investigations, such as blood tests and ultrasounds, to ensure optimal maternal and fetal well-being.
o Providing ongoing education and advice on topics such as nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being, and common pregnancy symptoms.
* Coordinating and Managing Antenatal Bookings:
o Scheduling and managing antenatal appointments tailored to the individual needs of each expectant mother.
o Supporting a seamless transition between various stages of antenatal care, ensuring continuity and consistency in care delivery.
* Providing Holistic Pregnancy Support:
o Offering guidance on birth preparation, pain management options, and expectations for labour and delivery.
o Empowering women with evidence-based information to make informed choices about their pregnancy and birthing preferences.
o Addressing any concerns or anxieties that expectant mothers may have and providing reassurance through empathetic communication.
In this role, you will be supported through the extensive expertise and resources of the esteemed Tamworth Antenatal Clinics referral centre, ensuring access to exceptional guidance, multidisciplinary collaboration, and seamless integration with specialised maternity services.
Requirements
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
* Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.

* * Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position. All payments made to part-time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.
