This is a field based medical role reporting to the Senior Medical Advisor, covering the UK and Ireland.
As a Medical Scientific Liaison (South/East of England) – Rare Nephrology, you will be the key scientific expert in the field, engaging with healthcare professionals across the UK and Ireland. Your role is to provide non-promotional medical support, build strong relationships with key opinion leaders, and gather insights to shape medical strategy. Working cross-functionally, you’ll support medical education, clinical projects, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. This is a field-based position, offering the opportunity to make a real impact in rare nephrology while driving scientific exchange and improving patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary field-based scientific expert in rare nephrology, engaging with HCPs and sharing the latest medical insights.
* Build and maintain trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), scientific experts, and other key medical stakeholders (75% of activities will be external-facing).
* Provide medical education, gather real-world insights, and share intelligence with cross-functional teams to drive strategy.
* Work closely with internal teams (medical, commercial, patient access, regulatory, and more) to align medical activities with business objectives.
* Deliver training to commercial and field teams, ensuring scientific accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
* Contribute to phase 3 and 4 studies, investigator-sponsored research, and post-authorisation studies in collaboration with the Senior Medical Advisor.
* Ensure all interactions and materials comply with ABPI/IPHA guidelines and internal regulatory standards.

Key Qualifications
* University degree in medical sciences, pharmacy, or a related field (PhD preferred).
* Proven experience as an MSL in the UK, with a track record of engaging KOLs.
* Deep understanding of UK/Ireland compliance and codes of practice.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex science for different audiences.
* Highly developed interpersonal and networking skills, both internally and externally.
* Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively.
* Highest level of integrity and commitment to compliance, ethics, and company values.
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Full UK driving license
* Ability to travel 3-4 days per week
* Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems
Desirable qualifications:
* Experience in nephrology and/or rare diseases.
* Experience in delivering medical affairs projects.
