The Role:
The Production Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the timely execution of well intervention and well delivery planning, which is crucial for meeting the 2024 production targets and preparing for the 2025 budget cycle. As a key member of the Production and Reservoir Management (PRM) team, this position provides specialised Petroleum Engineering and Production Technology support to operated assets. Responsibilities include identifying, planning, and implementing activities to enhance field production and injection, such as optimisation and intervention efforts. Additionally, the role involves offering expert petroleum engineering and production technology support for infill drilling planning activities.
You will:
* Support infill well delivery, including well statement of requirements, completion design inputs, and flow assurance considerations.
* Independently assess, identify, and justify valuable well and reservoir opportunities and strategies, including interventions, workovers, and treatments.
* Design sand face and upper completion, including inflow design, artificial lift, and tubing sizing.
* Lead framing discussions and conduct decision analysis to develop effective strategies for managing uncertainty.
* Provide flow assurance for both new and existing projects.
* Oversee and manage the well review process.
* Expertly manage and advance opportunities through the CNOOC stage gate system with minimal supervision.
* Collaborate with other subsurface disciplines to ensure successful outcomes.
* Lead technical support for well performance reviews and deep dives.
* Support platform and subsea interventions, including well startup programs, intervention program reviews, and peer assistance in design.
* Offer petroleum engineering support to subsurface teams and provide mentoring to the Production and Reservoir Management team.
Who are we looking for?
* Preferably an MSc or equivalent degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency in theoretical petroleum engineering and production technology concepts.
* Sand face and upper completion design.
* Production technology concepts and applications.
* Well and plant optimization strategies.
* Industry-standard petroleum engineering software, including the PETEX suite.
* PVT analysis and interpretation.
* Addressing production chemistry issues in waterflood reservoirs.
* Managing rock mechanical issues related to production and injection.
* Cased hole logging principles and applications.
* Zonal control principles and applications.
* Metering principles and applications.
* Competency in project management for well intervention and well delivery.
* Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
