Academy Physiotherapist (Professional Development Phase)

Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for an Academy Physiotherapist to support its Academy Medical operations primarily based at Clayton Wood Training Ground.
The successful applicant will report to the Academy Director and the Academy Medical Lead and will be responsible for providing physiotherapy services to all players in the Academy, primarily focusing on the U21 and U18 age groups, as well as promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of all Academy players.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Liaising with the Academy Director and Academy Medical Lead with information on injured players.
2. Providing training and games cover for U21 and U18s as well as assisting with U16-U9 as required.
3. Provide accurate assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all academy players.
4. Assisting with implementing and coordinating screening and prehabilitation programmes for all players.
5. Liaising with the First Team Head Physiotherapist and Head of Medical, assisting where required.
6. Creating a structured rehabilitation program for injured players, with pertinent objective markers to ensure safe progression.
7. Assist with player screening on match day +2 and +3.
8. Producing availability reports for each age group within the Academy to ensure appropriate medical information is collected for the medical departments monthly injury audit.
9. Ensuring all Cardiac Screening takes place in line with EPPP guidelines.
10. Ensuring the relevant medical equipment is monitored, checked and ordered, within the required budget.
11. Liaising with injured players’ parents/guardians on injury status if required.
12. Working with the casual Academy Physiotherapists to ensure appropriate injury prevention strategies are adopted.
13. Working with the Sports Science department to implement effective testing in age appropriate medical and physical screening, anthropometric assessments, physiological and fitness testing, movement and posture/functioning screening, and predictive maturation measurement.
14. Partake and lead on CPD events at the club.
Key Skills, Experiences and Qualifications:
1. Chartered Physiotherapist. (Essential)
2. HCPC and CSP registered. (Essential)
3. ATMMiF qualification, or equivalent. (Essential)
4. Experience in working with young elite athletes, creating and managing programmes to facilitate their long term athletic development.
5. An MSc in a relevant area, or working towards.
6. IT skills to include a high level of competence using Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
7. Full, clean driving licence is desirable.
The position will be offered on a full time basis, with the successful applicant available to work evenings and weekends when required.
