Feeders Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator, reporting directly to the Area Manager, will play a key role in providing leadership in managing/supervising construction projects by assisting in the project management and coordination of schedules, manpower, customer relations, engineering, and procurement. Risk analysis, project forecasting, and liaising with EPC and subcontractors are daily occurrences in this position. The Project Coordinator directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering and construction requirements within the scope of a specified project.

Your role within the team:
1. Carries out detailed constructability reviews to develop the project schedule, manpower and procurement requirements.
2. Plans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and manpower requirements.
3. Provides status report of project milestones and adjustment to schedules.
4. Identifies project manpower requirements and coordinates manpower with appropriate trades and subcontractors.
5. Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as-built drawings, turnover documents, etc.
6. Reviews company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications to ensure project compliance.
7. Coordinates activities relating to scheduling and resolving construction issues through the use of problem-solving techniques.
8. Evaluates and recommends design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
9. Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
10. Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
11. Forecasts and tracks change orders and scope changes.
12. Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.
13. Writes and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documents.
14. Coordinates all site procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, materials tracking and ensuring traceability of materials when installed in the field.
15. Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
16. Provides estimating and project management back-up as required.
17. Performs such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor/manager.
18. Develops and writes reports, business correspondence.
19. Supervisory responsibilities, Junior Project Coordinator (Co-op Students).

The ideal candidate:
1. University Degree or College Diploma or related experience.
2. Degree in Engineering considered an asset.
3. 0-3 years' experience in industrial construction experience.
4. Advanced Skills using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Project.
5. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
8. Project forecasting, budgeting and tracking.
9. Fiscal responsibility as required by the JV agreement.
10. Extent of Public Contact: Other Aecon Group Employees, Joint Venture and Project partners, Clients and Customers, Vendors and Subcontractors, and Various licensing agencies and regulatory authorities.
11. Various work locations in both field and office.
12. Travel as necessary.
13. Radiological environments.
14. Work in respirator and plastics (as required).
15. Work at heights (as required).
16. Shift Work (as required).
17. Due to the nature of work conducted by Shoreline, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment.
18. Our background check process includes a full security check and clearance process as well as reference checks. The security clearance process includes a comprehensive list of previous residences, employment, education and other pertinent information. Those with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred.
