Description Project Manager – Economic Development & Regeneration Grade: 10 Salary: £49,764 to £52,805. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, in accordance with Councils scheme of flexible working hours. The post holder may be required to work outside normal office hours from time to time. What is the role? You will lead on the effective management of several projects within the capital and revenue programme, focussing on efficient delivery, financial management, stakeholder engagement and alignment to policy and procedures. You will specifically manage the Council’s Criterion project to regenerate and re-open the disused building into a multi-use theatre, cinema and live music venue. This will involve managing consultants to produce a Full Business Case (FBC) from RIBA stage 2 through to RIBA 4 decision gateways, through to the investment decision and regeneration works. You will specifically manage the Digital Peninsula project funded by £1million of UK Shared Prosperity Funding (SPF) to implement the Council’s digital strategy. You will coordinate capital projects and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with external partners. You will be responsible for project risk management, business cases, reporting and pipeline planning. You will project manage the successful delivery of economic development and regeneration projects to budget, timescales and specification, also meeting management requirements such as health & safety, environmental, procurement and social value. We are looking for somebody who: Has an appropriate professional project management qualification (e.g. Prince 2 practitioner level) OR sufficient experience as a Project Manager, as this post is intended for post holders who have substantial post graduate experience, are developing their career and have some excellent experience in the industry. Has the ability to lead a team and drive success in a collaborative and positive working environment. Has an excellent commercial awareness and proven success of working within strict budgetary controls, including the analysis and interpretation of financial information. Has excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills and be able to deal effectively with members of staff at all levels and (at a non-technical level) with councillors and the general public. Has good analytical and problem solving skills, with an ability to prioritise workload in order to manage time effectively. This includes being able to work on own initiative and respond positively to workload pressures. Has experience of preparing reports and correspondence, using research and information gathering techniques. Has the ability to challenge in order to drive progress.
