Job Overview
Due to progression within the setting, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of early childhood education. This role requires the practitioner to work within the Toddler and Pre-school rooms as needed and also assist the management team when required.
Responsibilities
1. Work within the rooms as needed, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, and ensuring their well-being throughout the day.
2. Manage the overall operations of the nursery in the absence of the nursery manager.
3. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
4. Lead, mentor, and support nursery staff to create a cohesive team environment.
5. Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and development milestones.
Experience
1. Minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare.
2. Previous leadership experience within a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable.
3. Strong understanding and knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
6. A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
