Senior Cloud Ops Engineer Job Description: At Sage, our Cloud Operations DevOps team ensures our products and services are secure, high-performing, and always available to customers worldwide. We're looking for a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer to drive operational excellence, shape DevOps practices, and mentor less experienced engineers while supporting our 24/7 services. This is a hybrid role - three days per week in either our Newcastle or Winnersh offices. Key Responsibilities: What you'll do: - Take ownership of the availability, security, and performance of our products - Design innovative solutions to simplify customer experiences and reduce risks - Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis in high-pressure situations - Drive CI/CD best practices and optimize product delivery pipelines - Promote a DevOps/SRE culture across the organization - Build and enhance secure, scalable cloud environments to support growth - Define key metrics and implement monitoring tools to ensure continuous service quality - Partner with product teams to create seamless experiences for our customers - Communicate with stakeholders about changes, incidents, and service improvements - Mentor and coach team members, sharing expertise to elevate the team's capabilities - Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to provide exceptional customer support What we're looking for: - Proven experience in a Senior DevOps or Senior Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role - Expertise with AWS (Azure experience is a plus) - Strong scripting skills - PowerShell (preferred), Bash, Python - Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, NewRelic, or Dynatrace - Proficiency with service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk - A self-starter who thrives on innovation, automation, and driving best practices - Demonstrated success in CI/CD pipeline implementation - Strong problem-solving skills for critical incident response - A collaborative individual who can influence stakeholders and mentor other engineers Function: Cloud Operations Country: United Kingdom Office Location: Newcastle;Winnersh Work Place type: Hybrid Advert Working at Sage means you're supporting millions of small and medium sized businesses globally with technology to work faster and smarter.
