HGV Fleet Mechanic Working Pattern: 40 hrs per week Monday to Friday Location: Queens Drive, Nottingham NG2 Via is currently looking for an HGV Fleet Mechanic to join our Fleet Team based at our Queens Drive Depot in Nottingham. You will work as part of a busy Fleet Team to provide a varied range of skills in the maintenance, inspection, repair and testing of Vehicles to prescribed industry and manufactures standards ensuring customer satisfaction and repair turnaround times are met. The Job Key areas of responsibility will include: Responsible for repairing, maintaining, and inspecting a wide range of vehicles to prescribed standards and timeframes, delivering a high-quality service. Accurately complete all required statutory and Internal paperwork and document all legal requirements. Inspect and prepare HGV vehicles for Mot to ensure internal and external operator licences are compliant. Attend vehicle breakdowns reported by internal and external customers minimising Via and customers business downtime. Comply with all relevant health safety and environmental legislation and procedures taking personal responsibility for own and others Health and safety ensuring a safe working environment for colleagues and customers. Work as a relief chargehand as and when required to support supervisors with the efficient running of the service. The Person Mainly you will be excited to be a vital part of our Fleet Team, but there are just a few other things wed like from you: Qualified Mechanic to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in motor vehicle engineering. Full UK driving licence (Cat C desirable) Practical experience of working in a busy Fleet workshop environment on a wide range of vehicles to agreed manufacturer and internal standards. Ability to use diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices applicable to a workshop environment. Motivated and self-driven and capable working within a team to tight deadlines Good numeracy and literacy skills with a good standard of written and verbal communications. Ability to keep up with industry standards updating knowledge and skills.
