Due to recent expansion, our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, has a requirement for a buyer to join their well-established team.
Candidates should have experience of:
* Issuing RFP's
* Tendering
* Analysing responses
* Supplier negotiation
* Contract management
Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and issuing requests for proposals
2. Managing multi-discipline interfaces to ensure EACs, cost reduction targets, and procurement objectives are met
3. Identifying and managing suppliers
4. Establishing and negotiating purchase contracts
5. Monitoring and managing supplier performance
6. Executing cost and cash containment initiatives and financial commitments
7. Executing and supporting key strategies for sourcing
8. Identifying opportunities for waste elimination
9. Working in a multi-functional team
10. Being self-guided and able to manage several projects
Candidate Requirements:
1. A minimum of an HNC or relevant professional qualification (e.g. CPIM, CIPS)
2. Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within Material Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, etc. Candidates with lesser qualifications but with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience will also be considered
3. Demonstrated good communication skills
4. Knowledge of an MRP Planning System is essential
