Avantor is seeking an EHS Coordinator (f/m/d) in Reading, UK. In this role, you will be the initial point of contact for all EHS matters, providing general guidance and administrative support.

What we’re looking for
Education: Minimum A-levels standard
Experience:
* Previous experience working in an EHS function (as Coordinator, Admin Support, EHS Champion or similar)
* NEBOSH General Certificate
* Basic IEMA qualification would be an advantage
* General understanding of ISO Management Systems (9000, 14000, 45000 or newer)
* Experience working in an administrative function, ideally within a multinational company setting
* Previous experience from a chemical, lab or manufacturing background would be an advantage
* High standard of English to proofread technical documents and interpret legal text
* A professional growth mindset, with a keen willingness to learn and develop
* Good communicator who can influence stakeholders
* Full UK driving license would be beneficial
How you will thrive and create an impact
* Administration of EHS trainings and assessment for the UK and maintenance of the EHS training matrix. Prepare training materials and deliver trainings as required.
* Facilitate workplace safety measures of wired and non-wired associates.
* Maintain a register of all approved and new contractors.
* Coordinate EHS champion meetings (maintain project plan and coordinate meetings, actions log and taking of minutes).
* Provide support to environmental and sustainability initiatives.
* Enter sustainability data on corporate reporting systems and provide them for local reporting requirements.
* Assist with preparing the EHS newsletters.
* Support the local Operations teams with risk assessments and work with the wider UK EHS team on risk mitigation projects.
* Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to answer customer requests relating to EHS matters.
* Participate in GEMBA walks to identify hazards and in EHS audits.
